    A five-question test

    Can you read a label?

Five questions. How many can you get?

A supplement label tells you everything, if you know where to look. Each question asks about one part of the label. Tap that part.

    Question 1 of 5

What is the serving size on this label? Tap the line that says.

Tap the part of the label the question asks about.

    What a label can hide

Three places a label can hide things.

    The blend.

    27 in 100

Twenty seven in a hundred supplement labels declare a proprietary blend. Ours have none: 35 actives, every one printed with its amount.

Source: NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database, 26,479 of 97,137 labels on market, export 2026-01-10. None of these figures is a measurement of a XYNE strip.

    The missing unit.

An amount with no unit tells you nothing; mcg, mg and g are a thousand-fold apart.

    The blank %DV.

No Daily Value has been established for it. A blank is not zero.

    Ours, printed

Ours prints every amount. No proprietary blends.

    The questions we actually get.

    What does %DV mean?

%Daily Value compares a serving with a reference amount for a day. Only nutrients with an established Daily Value get one; others carry a symbol instead. A blank is normal.

What does an allergen statement look like?

Look for a line beginning "Contains:", or an allergen named in parentheses in the ingredient list. One of our eleven labels reads "Contains: Shellfish (oyster peptide)."

What makes a lab result useful?

The panel says what should be in it. A lab result says what was measured in one batch. A useful one names the lot and prints the amount claimed beside the amount measured.
